On June 30th Denis Law will have served his first half-year in the Renton mayor’s office. It’s been a productive and pleasant six months for the council, even though we have had to work through some major work projects (huge annexations, completion of the Landing, Seahawks headquarters construction, rebuilding four train trestles, etc) and many issues (transit center crime, airport leases, helicopter issues, closing of Duvall Avenue, derelict dry docks, etc). We’ve also had to appoint a new council member during this time.
Marcie Palmer, who is serving as council president for the first time this year, has also done an expert job at making this a smooth transition year.
Here is the Renton Reporter story about Denis Law’s highly-successful first six months in office.
Denis- Thanks for doing such a great job for our city!
Denis is a good man period! He always does the right thing and does not have an ego. He is doing this job because he cares and knows he can make a difference for the citizens of Renton. Denis is not doing this job for the money, that’s what makes him a different kind of mayor. It’s amazing to hear city employees talk about him. They all feel that he is approachable at any time. They consider him part of the team to solve problems. The blessing is that nobody fears him. What a difference. Denis is highly respected by many. You won’t see any unethical things happening under his leadership. He is a man of great character.

Jay Covington started with Earl Clymer? He must have been 8 years old. . . .
The Renton Reporter should do an investigation on the travel issue. Citizens have a right to know if an unusual amount of travel has taken place at their expense.
