Responding Officers located a small explosive device near Downtown Renton Library, along the Cedar River. As a precaution, the Library was evacuated, and traffic diverted around the Liberty Park/Library area. An ordinance disposal unit from the Port of Seattle neutralized the device, and normal traffic flow has resumed. Dear KCLS supporters, I humbly ask that you wait till we empty the current library before destroying it. Thank you.
Randy, can you comment on what happened at the Renton library last night. There were several police cars, at least 4 policemen on bicycle, 2 medic vehicles and 2 fire trucks.
It appeared that someone was shot and another individual was chased into the bushes and then apprehended.
It was a very volital situation with so many families with children in the vacinity.
