Another scorcher today. Exactly how hot was it in Renton today?
It was so hot in Renton that Maplewood Golf course was warning golfers to watch out for scorpions and rattle snakes.
It was so hot in Renton that we are thinking about adding Reykjavik, Iceland to our sister city program, and then organizing an eighty-thousand-person delegation to go there
It was so hot in Renton my wife and I are looking to trade our horse in for a camel.
It was so hot in Renton that some people were considering trying to hasten the damage at the Howard Hanson Dam
It was so hot in Renton that European travel guides listed the Dairy Queen on 4th street as a more interesting attraction than Jimi Hendrix burial site.
It was so hot in Renton we had to keep closing down the Renton Airport to clear away the tumbleweeds
It was so hot in Renton that even the creepiest customers at the phony tanning salon decided all they wanted was an ice water and a tan.
Please don’t miss yesterday’s blog about the heat, along with the funny user submitted comments, which you can read Here .
How hot did YOU think it was today Rentonites?
Actually, today was quite comfortable. We borrow an A/C unit from a neighbor this afternoon and didn’t even use it! After 105, 90s seems a little chilly! Guess it’s all relative. 🙂
McClendons sells these things:

It’s helped keep us very cool – it lowered our outdoor temperature from 105 to 79. Unfortunately – they’re probably sold out now.
Here’s a video that makes me sick to my stomach:
This Volvo is being destroyed per Obama’s “Cash For Clunkers” progrom. Not only are us taxpayers paying people to buy new cars, but we’re government is mandating that we destroy the value in the cars that we take off the road.
….
This car represents a lot: The people who designed it, the people who built it and the people that mined our earth to get the materials.
….
Is this what our life has become? We work half the year to pay for taxes so that big-government can play at social engineering as a sport?
I blame Bush.
