Mr. Milosevich,
I have lived in Renton for only two years. In that time however, I have developed an appreciation for the department you run.
When I first moved to the area around Benson and Puget Dr, I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my house after dark. There were, shall we say, disreputable looking characters round abouts. This was distressing, as I am an insomniac and find walking late at night a release that calms my mind and ultimately allows me to go to sleep sooner. In the time I have been here I have seen this change. I have watched your officers conduct chases through nearby neighborhoods, from my deck. I have seen them out on patrol. There isn’t anyone I would worry about gathering around my neighborhood anymore.
I have seen and overheard your officers deal with citizens with respect and dignity; and yet, they are no pushovers. Strength mixed with a gentle hand is a difficult thing to create in a police department, as I understand.
The purpose of this is to say that I rest easy, because of what I have seen. It seems that your department strives to protect and serve in practice, not just in motto. I appreciate this.
Keep up the good work,
JRC
Seconded….
The RDP is awesome – tough when needed, friendly otherwise.
Small town police departments like Renton are usually filled with nice people who really want to help out.
This may sound odd – but I’ve reported several stolen cars and two thefts. And the RDP really gained my respect when they didn’t assume that I was correct. They really did things by “the book” and made sure that my accusations could be backed up before they moved forward. Simply put, they also had the rights of the accused in mind.
While sometimes frustrating, that’s they way things should be.
Is this a parody? You know he’s using his power to attack someone who has blown the whistle on the most outrageous abuses under his watch, and in doing so showing a contempt for the very constitution he’s meant to uphold? Are you aware of even a fraction of the charges against him and his department? They don’t merit an investigation, but someone speaking out against them does. I thought I left all that behind in China.
