Can’t make the council meeting tonite but wanted to put in my two cents worth.
We live just off 95th Way west of Coal Creek Parkway and will be impacted by the
widening re access to Sunset and Coal Creek but closing Duval for one year and
getting the job sooner sure sounds like the right idea. Traffic will be
disrupted no matter what you do but one year vs two years is a no brainer. I
would almost bet the contractor would come in ahead of schedule if there were no
traffic control to worry about. Plus the project will probably dovetail better
with the Newcastle effort.
Thanks, sound like things are going forward. Have you or anyone on the council had a chance to look at the option to start the project in June, as opposed to February? The idea would be to have 6 months of the 12 month closure be done so during summer break, which would minimize the impact on Sierra Heights, as well as performing work during the traditional “relatively” slow traffic flow time period. I would think the contractor could get a lot of the prep work done ahead of time.
Unless I am missing somthing, or there are timing issues with the contrator, seems like a no brainer to me!
I *like* that idea!
Did I miss somthing? Why was the idea for the Duvall closure to be delayed till June, not even addressed by the transportation committee, or at the the council meeting on the 10th? A forceful request was made on the December 3rd meeting, and followed up via emails by myself and others, yet no discussion or consideration?! I think we are due at minimum an explanation, instead of being ignored!
