Renton police have reported that two Kennydale elementary students ingested PCP after school today. The two eight-year-olds are recovering, and there is an on-going investigation to understand exactly how they came into possession of the illegal drugs. This could have been extremely tragic, and it is important to get to the bottom of it.
Here is more information in the Renton Reporter.
It is scary when you consider that children are innocent, unknowing, trusting and inquisitive, (probably a few others that I missed), and that people are stupid enough to do something this bad, cruel, uncaring and most important, illegal whither it was done on purpose or accidental.

This really bothers me…
It seems the news has a different story on every station. I happen to know one of the mothers from work, and I don’t think any of this story was properly portrayed in the media. But, when the investigation is over and (hopefully) the entire truth comes out, people wills see how scary this scenario really was, and how much worse it could have been.
Re: This really bothers me…
what really was interesting to me, is that the PI said something like, “mother smelled it and said it smelled like PCP” I am not an angel and sheltered person by any means, but I do not know what PCP smells like.
??????
Re: This really bothers me…
There’s probably more to the story, but just because the mother knows what PCP smells like, doesn’t necessarily mean she’s a druggie.
Kinda like how I know how to properly take apart a proper fifteen pound American-made hickory Axe (Made in the 1960’s when the metallurgy was good) into the handle and head, then oil the ash handle – make sure there’s no knots or cracking, hone and sharpen the bit to 25 degree (sharp but sturdy), reassemble and hafte the axe with the belly of the handle reversed toward the back for easier removal from hewed bone and meat, and then rough up the handle with 160 grit sandpaper so that I can still hold onto it with all the blood, really isn’t good evidence of me being an axe murderer.

Ben was in Bellevue..?
Bellevue Police nab axe-wielding man who smashed collection agency
Bellevue police last night arrested the man who allegedly smashed the front door of a local collection agency with an axe Tuesday morning.
A receptionist at the collection agency, located in an office park on the 1400 block of 114th Ave. SE, saw the man hitting the door and side glass panes. Shards of glass flew across the room and hit her.
The suspect returned to his workplace in Kent and told coworkers what he had done, police said. Employees at the aerospace-related company heard reports of the incident and called authorities.

Re: This really bothers me…
From what I gather about one of the mothers (two kids, two different mothers) saying it “smelled like PCP” is– PCP has a very putrid smell that one would never forget after smelling it. Someone told me “it smells like death” so yes, I agree, that this statement means nothing about mother’s involvement. The mother in question in the mother of the 7-year-old that “supplied” the drugs to the 2 8-year-olds.
Re: This really bothers me…
Knowing how to identify the smell of PCP is a good deal more difficult and unique for the average person than knowing how to sharpen an axe. Many people know how to sharpen an axe. Since she said she knew it smelled like PCP I dont think it is unreasonable to ask how she knows how to identify it smelled like PCP. Perhaps the answer would put the question to rest.
