Gary Palmer, professional photographer and husband of councilwoman Marcie Palmer, has documented some beautiful images of this summer’s Return to Renton Car Show (held July 6th). This year, with street department arrangements in place, the cars “Cruised the Loop,” giving onlookers a view of Renton from a past era, a time when the Renton Loop was THE PLACE where Seattle area residents could really show off their muscle cars on a Friday or Saturday night. HERE are all of Gary’s images from this event.
Awsome!
Nice photos!
It was really nice having the show in downtown Renton, instead of the stadium. I hope the restaurants downtown benefited from the shop – if they did, I’d love to see more events that closed down downtown like this again.
It was really pleasent to wander around – it was like being in an old European town: a lot of them haze a core in the downtown area that’s two twisty for cars.
Even if you’re not a car fan (I’m not) – the event is fun. There’s great people watching. You can get an appreciation of all the eras of cars – even some of the 1970’s cars were amazing. You’ll see a lot of history in the cars and the people.
