Original Post:
A 26 year old man was tragically shot to death in South Renton last night. There was a second reported shooting later in the Renton Highlands; I don’t have details yet on the whether there were injuries, and how serious they were, from that shooting. [Post-publication note: there was an injury- See update above] My heart is with the victim (or victims) and their loved ones today.
In addition to the overwhelming personal loss for the victims and their families, these shootings are tragedies for our community. We need to protect our residents to the best of our abilities and not let violence become worse each year. Every time a homicide is reported on social media, more of our residents discuss their need to find a safer place to live.
